NADJA is a groundbreaking news platform dedicated to challenging gender stereotypes and amplifying underrepresented voices. Recognizing that only 25% of news stories worldwide focus on women—and a mere 3% challenge gender bias—NADJA’s mission is to rethink the news with fairness, transparency, and inclusivity.
Founded by former BBC journalists Alia Chebbab and Leila Hawkins, NADJA publishes thoroughly researched and fact-checked stories from around the globe that confront racist, sexist, and ableist biases. Their work highlights women’s achievements and champions diverse perspectives across all communities.
Inspired by the surrealist novel Nadja, the platform embodies hope and the ongoing quest for liberation and deeper understanding. NADJA is committed to creating a media landscape where everyone’s voice is heard and valued.

Podium.me is an award-winning collective of young journalists who use their smartphones to capture and share the stories and opinions of under-25s from around the world. The platform empowers youth voices often overlooked in mainstream media by equipping young people aged 16–25 with skills and opportunities to create podcasts and audio dramas inspired by their own lives.
Co-founded in 2012 by Camilla Byk, whose mission is to ensure young people are represented and respected in the media, Podium.me has gained recognition for its grassroots approach. Camilla studied Italian and French at Siena and Oxford Universities, has worked with the BBC and educational charities, and is a Fellow and former Trustee of The Radio Academy. In 2022, she was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for her services to young people and broadcast journalism.

Migrant Women Press is a migrant women-led independent media organisation based in the UK, dedicated to amplifying the voices of migrant and diaspora women through original journalism. Founded by journalist Juliana da Penha in 2020 , Migrant Women Press provides a platform for women from diverse backgrounds to share their experiences, perspectives, and stories, challenging the systemic underrepresentation and misrepresentation of migrant communities in mainstream media.
The organisation publishes investigative reporting, opinion pieces, and features that centre on the intersectional experiences of migrant women, addressing issues such as racism, gender inequality, and displacement. Migrant Women Press also offers training and opportunities in media, fostering a sense of belonging and community among migrant women journalists.
Through its work, Migrant Women Press aims to build fair and humanised discussions around migration, bringing diversity to the media landscape and ensuring that migrant women’s voices are heard and valued.

Zan Times is a women-led investigative newsroom founded by Zahra Nader, dedicated to reporting on human rights violations in Afghanistan with a special focus on women and the LGBTQI+ community. Composed mainly of Afghan women journalists working both inside and outside the country, Zan Times raises marginalized voices through powerful storytelling and groundbreaking investigations.
Born in the wake of the Taliban’s 2021 takeover, when systematic repression and violence against women and marginalized groups escalated, Zan Times channels urgency and courage to speak truth to power. Their mission is to foster awareness, empathy, and inspire action towards building an equitable society in Afghanistan.
Zan Times remains fiercely independent, committed to ethical, fact-checked journalism, and is supported by grants from organisations such as Internews, Reporters Without Borders, and the International Women’s Media Foundation. Despite ongoing funding needs, Zan Times prioritizes editorial integrity and transparency, ensuring its vital reporting continues despite the risks faced by journalists on the ground.

The Stage Media (TSM) is Liberia’s first dedicated fact-checking media organization, founded in 2020 by award-winning investigative journalist Bettie K. Johnson Mbayo. With a mission to tackle misinformation and disinformation, TSM aims to strengthen accountability, amplify underreported voices, and promote transparency in Liberia’s media landscape.
Headquartered in Monrovia, TSM verifies statements from politicians, public figures, and viral online content, classifying them from “true” to “false” based on verifiable data. Beyond fact-checking, TSM produces investigative and human-interest stories, particularly on anti-corruption in the justice and security sectors, and works to uncover hidden narratives, including those of war survivors and victims of abuse.
TSM also documents entrenched practices that shield the powerful from scrutiny, helping ensure that Liberians have access to accurate, contextual, and justice-oriented journalism. Through its work, TSM contributes to building an informed and accountable society.
